There is an amazing amount of diversity in the fishing found off the shore of North Florida.
Reefs, both artificial and natural litter the ocean floor making ample cover and structure for fish to hide.
Big Grouper, red snapper, mangroves, beeliners,
sharks, sea bass, african pompano, cobia, amber jacks and barracuda are regular customers on these reefs. With the right bait
and technique, most anglers come home with more than enough fish to feed the whole neighborhood. But there are some secrets to finding and catching the big ones.
If you have the right numbers, you can almost always find big fish. What we mean by the right numbers are the GPS and loran
satellite coordinates.
These GPS numbers are guarded secrets by many anglers and charter captains but general reef numbers are available from the Coast Guard.
Bottom fishing is not the only fishing you can find offshore in North Florida. Top water fishing is truly great.
Schools of dolphin (mahi mahi)are often found around floating patches of seaweed or debris.
King fishing in North Florida can be some of the best in the world. Try trolling a bally-hoo or poagie and
get ready for big water action.
The Gulf Coast is located 80 miles offshore and is famous for big bill fish like sail fish and blue marlins.
In the North Florida area there are
numerous charter boats and party boats that would be more than happy to accomodate any type of fishing experience. For more information on
these boats contact us at redfishmaniac@northfloridafishing.com.
